Becca Thorpe

Overview

Becca grew up in South Yorkshire enjoying family trips to Northumberland and weekends in Derbyshire. Sketching and playing with watercolours were hobbies.

An art foundation degree at Lincoln College followed where she studied fine art, photography and 3D design. Becca then majored in interior architecture at Sheffield Hallam University. After graduating with a First Class Hons Degree, lockdown plunged her into painting full time.

Moving to the rural west coast of Scotland in the summer of 2020, Becca had the opportunity to paint the breathtaking scenery that was now on her doorstep. Using oil paint she mostly paints the landscape with a few wildlife pieces and still life.

“I want my pieces to transport the viewer to the moment l have tried to capture on canvas whether it be smelling the sea breeze or feeling sunlight warm your face during a country walk as it gently sets.”
