Caroline Knox has taken an unconventional route to printmaking, her early career followed a scientific and agricultural route where she worked in beautiful Tayside with potatoes. Even then she brought artistic ideas to the companies marketing as her early interest in art refused to remain buried.
A chance photo of her dogs on a beach lead her to recreate the image at a linocut class and, she immediately fell in love with the technique enjoying the ability to represent nature and landscapes she worked within in a unique style. The creation of limited and varied small editions allowed her need for productivity to be fulfilled and the colour variations used across her hand made prints reflects the constant changes to the skies and moods of nature.
Hand made prints are a fantastic art form, created manually using a carved template they often include layers of colour offering a texture and human touch that brings a unique collectability to Original Prints.
Caroline now balances her time between printmaking and farming and has launched a small popular homeware range as her deigns lend themselves so well to the home.
