Growing up in the Far North of Scotland gave Jane a love for the open moorland and dramatic coastline of her surroundings and these familiar land and seascapes continue to influence her paintings.

Painting in acrylics and mixed media, she enjoys building up tone and texture where paint, ink and other materials are applied directly on canvas and layered/ scraped back with palette knife, sponge and dry brush, allowing random shapes, colours and outlines to evolve. More carefully executed detail is applied if desired.

Jane exhibits at galleries and art fairs throughout Scotland. One of her paintings was recently chosen to be displayed with others as part of the Highland Art Prize exhibition in Glasgow.
