Lindsay Turk

Overview

Lindsay currently lives and works in Aberfeldy.

She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a first-class degree in Drawing & Painting in 1998 and then continued there to complete a Masters in Fine Art.

Her work is rooted in Contemporary Realism and subjects range widely from contemplative still life to quiet landscapes; from the movement and gestures observed in the natural world to profound connections between objects and people.

‘I naturally tend towards deep observation. The fall of light on any subject is paramount and will almost always be the first thing that draws me to it. My work is underpinned by a consistent attraction to capturing the subtleties and nuances of light and atmosphere of a single moment or a particular place.’

Lindsay was Artist in Residence for the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2019 and has worked on many commissioned paintings including for the actress Courteney Cox and album cover artwork for the musician Foy Vance. She has work in public and private collections throughout the UK, Europe, USA and Japan.
