Lyndsey Lannie

Overview

Lyndsey Lannie lives and works in the coastal town of Dalgety Bay Fife, where she uses the traditional method of oil on canvas to create beautifully detailed images of the everyday.

With a fascination of the mundane, she gives importance to this subject using depth, detail, colour, light and mood. The work is developed over many hours using gentle brush strokes and a layering/blending technique.

There is much is focus on playing around with nostalgic food images - our favourite childhood treats or familiar comfort food. This taps into the positive emotions of our past and helps us to connect to personal cherished memories.
Her subject matter is influenced by the Pop Art movement, using popular images and embodying its bold, vibrant energy with a retro edge.

Graduating from Gray's School of Art Aberdeen in 2003, Lyndsey specialised in Fine Art/Painting.
