Since graduating from Glasgow School of Art in 1971, I have exhibited throughout the British Isles and in New York. I have work in private and corporate collections both at home and abroad including that of the Duke and Duchess of Richmond at Goodwood. I have exhibited at The Royal Scottish Academy and The Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts.
I paint happily in watercolour, oil and mixed media. In addition to Scottish landscapes my work often includes animals with a series of brush drawings or studies before these are developed into larger more decorative canvases or panels. Line, movement and colour characterise my work, while politics, religion and the human condition have always been included in my extensive range of subjects. If it moves me, I paint it! Foreign travel has inspired several major solo exhibitions, which have had as their themes links between Scotland and the USA, China, Africa and the Caribbean.
Recently I supplied eleven original drawings along with several prints for each of the bedrooms of the new Dorchester Collection, Cowarth Park Hotel at Ascot and I have been commissioned to design a best selling range of equestrian decorative designs on tableware for Gabriella Shaw Ceramics.
I have regularly taken my own exhibition space at major outdoor and equestrian events throughout the UK including The Royal Highland Show and the Longines FEI European Eventing Championships at Blair Castle.
